Our founders
VIDA was born in 2018, out of a conversation with the European Space Agency about new uses for geospatial data. We started with rural electrification, and the work has grown outward from there. Energy is still the core question: grid extension, mini-grids, or standalone solar. The same evidence base now supports health facilities, schools, water systems, roads, and connectivity, and shows how exposed all of it is to flooding, heat, and storms.
